BooYAh... What a season this is!
It's been a while since I last did a blog for the Catamounts, so first and foremost I must apologize for my lateness! School and track keep me somewhat grounded so time is hard to find nowadays! Anyway, the past two months of track and field across the nation have been INCREDIBLE!
Since this year is an Olympic year, it's expected for everyone to see and witness blazing times but this early in the season, it still amazes me! My teammates and I have been running and jumping very well over the past couple of weeks.
We've taken trips to Chapel Hill, NC; Johnson City, TN; Akron, OH; and Clemson, SC and in those trips came a few standout performances on both the men's and women's teams.
With the 2008 Southern Conference Indoor Championships right around the corner, our teams are just about ready to step onto the battle field against the other competitors in the SoCon!
Recently and currently at practice, we have been utilizing the fact that "what you do at practice, is most likely what you're going to do in the track meet itself" so there has been a lot of focus at practice. Now don't get me wrong, we definitely have our laughing moments, but when it's time for `business', we're `dressed accordingly'!
With all these things in mind on behalf of my self and my teammates, we would like to say thank you to head Coach Danny Williamson, and our entire coaching staff for the hard work and time you've put in since day ONE! The rest of the season is going to be GREAT and successful for EVERYONE! We just have to practice what we preach and stay ahead of the game! So, everyone out there who reads this, you might want to take that "eye off the tiger" and put one on the Cats because it's about to get wild at the red oval in Cullowhee, USA!!!!
